The Lodge was organized June 14, 1948 as a result of Central City Lodge # 12 having out grown the space available. Under the conditions, some of the brothers decided to organize a new PHA Lodge. A petition for a charter was submitted to the MWPHGL of Georgia. Shortly after, the charter was granted and issued in the name of J.H. Walker #55. The name J.H. Walker was chosen in honor of John Henry Walker, who was a dedicated member of the Masonic Order.
Upon receiving the charter, Ed Taylor was appointed as the first Worshipful Master, and he served as Worshipful Master for 23 years. Since his appointment, the lodge has had 17 other Worshipful Masters in our 60 years of existence.
We have currently moved to a new location that shines brightly at 2007 Walnut St. Macon Ga., in which we are very proud of . Since being organized J.H. Walker has served the community proudly. We thank God for such a rich past and promising future.
